Hank’s

The Patriots played the Jets on Thursday Night Football. But for us it’s Friday Morning Football. We had our Chinese speaking friend Justin call a few bars and see if any would open up early to let us watch.

Hank’s said yes. He [Hank] told us to come around 9 and he’d get someone there to make breakfast too.

We showed up and were just a tad late since we got lost, and missed most of the first quarter. No worries though, we felt at home.

Hank is from Chicago, Bears and White Sox fan, and has dozens of jerseys hanging from his ceiling. There was a pretty vast array of jerseys (football, futbol, rugby, racing shirts, etc), and he told us that his customers bring all of those in. No Patriots gear up there yet…

The chef showed up late so we didn’t eat until around 10, but it was a great classic American breakfast. 2 eggs over easy, 2 bacon, hash browns and toast. It was kind of pricey and didn’t fill me but damn it tasted good.

The game was another story. The Pats squeaked out a win, and the whole time Mickey was cheering against the Pats (not really for the Jets because A) no one can cheer for the Jets and B) he’s a Dolphins fan), which was frustrating. But a win is a win and a great American bar & breakfast is delicious. We’ll be back, no doubt.

they sure were lucky to squeak a win out! My daughter is a Giants fan but I bought her and boyfriend tickets it see the Pats in December. She was whining a little even when I told her that she is going to see one the best QB’s in history! Well there is no pleasing some.

Great to reading about your life in China. M
